Willie, along with his sister Trisha and brother Garth, was rescued from very rough conditions by an SPCA volunteer, and they're all now ready to find new loving families. Trisha has been happily adopted while Garth underwent open heart surgery for a congenital defect and is now just fine. They are truly mixed breed pups, mostly Dachshund-Chihuahua (Chiweenie), though we're told they have a small Shepherd-Dalmation grandparent! Even though their dad was small, mom is medium sized and we think their growth rate suggests that should mature in the 25-35 lb. range. With improved care, they are thriving and loving all the attention they're getting. Though Willie's pictures make him look like a large dog he's not, at just 24 lb at about 7 months of age. He's reliably housebroken, calm and very friendly with people, as well as the other dogs in his foster family. As with all our rescue dogs, Willie has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is just $95.00, plus a one-time charge of $10.99 for a LIFETIME microchip registration with HomeAgain. If you'd love to make Willie a member of your family, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application. Thanks for thinking rescue!
