Buster appears to be a purebred Boxer and was rescued from the hazardous life of a stray by an SPCA volunteer. Our veterinarian examined Buster's lame right hind leg and found that he'd previously had surgery (a pin was visible on X-ray). While Buster does alternate between dragging and carrying that leg, it seemed to cause him very little discomfort and didn't slow him down much. But it had healed poorly and his hip bone was out of the socket, so further surgery was just completed and Buster should be fully recovered by April 6th and ready for adoption. True to his Boxer personality, Buster loves everyone he meets and wants to be best friends. He seems to like other dogs and would be expected to get along well with other pets (though we're not certain how he'd do around cats). He's an enthusiastic greeter, so his size might prove intimidating to young children and smaller pets. Buster is neutered and current on his vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee will be $125.00 plus a one-time charge of $10.99 for his lifetime microchip registration with HomeAgain. If you'd like to help with the cost of Buster's hip surgery (which required over two hours to complete) the final cost was $1,313.06!
