This handsome purebred Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) named "Maverick" was surrendered by his owner who had to work long days and hated to see him alone.  She had noticed Maverick was beginning to show signs of separation anxiety after his person left home for college.  As much as she loved him, she felt the best thing for Maverick was a new home where he'd receive plenty of attention and had company most of the time.  Maverick gets along great with multiple dogs in his foster home and we think he'd probably be okay around confident cats (he might try to herd them).  Many Shelties can be very shy around strangers but Maverick is very outgoing and seems good around children.  As with all our rescue pets, Maverick has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm protection.  His adoption fee is $300 plus a one-time charge of $10.99 for his lifetime microchip registration with HomeAgain.  If you think you can offer Maverick the attention and company he craves, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application.  Thanks for taking the road to rescue!
