Talk about one smart puppy--Maxwell trotted right up the drive of one of our volunteers to check in for his own rescue! He has since quickly learned to sit, lie down, fetch, shake and go to his crate on command, though he's still young and can get excited off leash. Maxwell must have experienced a somewhat rough beginning in life, as he has some scarring around his neck, but now he's found the good life and seems to know it! We aren't sure of his breeding, but even if Max is a "Heinz 57", the result is both cute and smart. From his looks, size and behavior we're guessing a Beagle mix and maybe a little Boxer? Maxwell gets along fine with other animals (both dogs and cats) but hasn't been around children in his foster home. If you live on the lake or have a pool, know that Max loves the water and will jump right in to fetch his ball (see his pictures!). As with all our rescue pets, Maxwell has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations, worming, heartworm prevention and flea control.
