Meet "Pepper", a friendly Australian Blue Heeler (mix?) who's all ready to find a new home and get down to some serious play, or fun work! This breed is highly intelligent and wants ever so much to help out, especially if it involves herding animals. Therefore Pepper might not be the best candidate for a home with small children, but great for more active people. Pepper's foster reports that he's very well behaved in the house and loves to cuddle without insisting on being a lap dog. Though perhaps because he's reliably housebroken, Pepper resists entering a crate and much prefers to be out and about. While Heelers are known to have almost boundless energy and Pepper is far from a couch potato, he's described as moderately active (so not a "wired" personality). As a fully grown young adult (our vets estimated his age between 2 and 3 years), Pepper is a nice medium sized (35 lb) dog who seems to get along well with other dogs and is very people friendly, but has yet to be tested around cats he might want to chase. As with all our rescue dogs, Pepper has already been neutered and is current on his vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is just $95.00 plus a one-time charge of $10.99 for his lifetime microchip registration with HomeAgain. If you'd love Pepper to spend some time "Down Under" your feet after a busy day, please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application (no cost or obligation). Thanks for thinking rescue!
