This beautiful, calm and very affectionate guy named "Asher" was born to an FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) positive mother and unfortunately it was passed on to him. Asher's siblings all had the good luck to test negative after 6 months, but he must now be considered Special Needs. Even though there's currently no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans, as long as they are not also infected with feline leukemia virus (for which Asher tested negative).
Therefore Asher should NOT be around other cats unless they have also tested FIV positive, though he poses no threat to people and should easily adapt to a home with gentle dogs and/or children. That's the only reason he's listed as "not good with cats". But as a bottle-fed kitten, Asher absolutely excels at his love for people and cuddling, or just hanging out with them! Asher is also unique in that he's apolydactyl (has extra toes that look sort of like thumbs added onto his "kitten mittens"--see his main photo)!
Asher has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is just $80.00 and includes a LIFETIME microchip registration with HomeAgain. Make this holiday season very special by inviting Asher into your heart and home!
