Found abandoned along a roadside on a cold, windy morning our four "Shoebox sisters" should be ready to go to their new homes about the third week in February (they'd be a little over 4 months old by then). Due to various white paws they were named for famous shoe brands: Avia (smallest black), Nike (sleek black coat), Reebok (cute brindle) and Skecher (slightly fuzzy black hair). They all have white chests and extremely soft coats that make them a delight to cuddle with once they settle down from their rough play! Judging from their guesstimated age at 14 weeks, they should mature into medium sized adults somewhere in the range of 25 to 35 pounds. Their parentage is a real puzzle but we think some sort of terrier mix given the tulip ears, face and body size. In their foster home they've spent time both inside and outside and have quickly become reliably house trained when given free access to a doggie door. The greatest hazard they pose is CHEWING and nothing is sacred--they try everything from feet to furniture. These puppies adore being with people and follow their foster mom everywhere, and when finally tired out take a nap at her feet. They've been raised around other adult dogs and do well with some mature "canine guidance". All these pups seem extremely intelligent with a will to please, and curious but friendly with other animals such as parrots (and though they haven't lived with cats or children should easily adjust).
