This cute puppy named "Lola" and her brother "Tango" were rescued by one of our volunteers after they were found in a horse pasture--not a good place to be at such a tender age! Both were thin and starving, covered in fleas and had hair loss from mange. You can see what some tender loving care accomplished in just a month or so. Their foster is currently teaching them to walk on leash, but they haven't spent much time indoors since her older dog doesn't care for their attempts at play. Both pups behaved very well at their first Petco adoption day and seemed to get along great with other animals (though they haven't been around cats at home) and kids. They love to play their own unique game of fetch, which means Lola chases and retrieves the tossed toy, while Tango then steals it and plays "keep away". Our best guess at their breeding is primarily a Lab/Boxer mix and the vet thinks they'll mature into the 40 to 50 lb weight range (Lola is the smaller of the two). Tango and Lola are up to date on vaccinations, have been wormed, treated for fleas and are on heartworm prevention. As soon as the mange treatment is complete they'll go for their spay/neuter surgery and be ready to find new homes. If one or both of these K9's have tugged at your heartstrings please go to www.spcaofmc.com home page.
