Meet Crosby, a darling Dachshund/Chihuahua mix ("Chiweenie") male puppy born the first week of November 2013. Crosby, along with his mother and 3 siblings, had a rough start in life. During those cold snaps in December, they found themselves hungry and homeless. But luckily an SPCA PETS SNAP volunteer found the precious little family and rescued them, providing lots of TLC until they all became healthy and happy and ready to find forever homes. And fortunately they all have...except poor Crosby! Hopefully his waiting will be soon over.
Crosby is such a friendly, fun-loving boy (check out his videos below!). Of course he is still a puppy, so he loves to play with other dogs and people. But he also enjoys attention and cuddling with his foster family. who practice with him on leash training and holding still for nail trimming. When confined indoors, Crosby is both paper and crate trained. Added to all that, Crosby is quite handsome, with his glossy black, short coat and expressive eyes. And those adorable ears that can't decide to stand straight up (Chihuahua) or flop over (Dachshund), so they compromise at "tulip"!
Crosby's heart is huge, but his stature is small (currently 12 pounds) so he’ll remain in the "small" category even when fully grown. He's current on all shots, heartworm negative and, of course, neutered. Now all Crosby needs is to find a family who will love him forever. If Crosby might be "the one" for you, go to our home page at www.spcaofmc.com. In the green menu box at the left sidebar, click on "Forms & Applications" to get started. And thanks from all of us here for thinking "rescue"!
