Divas & Doggies Luncheon & Fashion Show

Our 2nd Annual Divas & Doggies Luncheon & Fashion show will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2010 at 11:00 am at April Sound's beautiful lakeside Room. This event, which is open to both men and women, will benefit our rescue pets. Upon entering the Lakeside Room, patrons will notice beautifully decorated tables with center pieces made from dog food bowls (which will be available for sale) as well as an ongoing slide show depicting precious rescue animals. Folks can then visit the Silent Auction Tables filled with lots of items that generous merchants in our area have donated. There will even be a Restaurant Tree Raffle where people can win dining certificates to various local eateries. Of corse, a cash bar will be open for your enjoyment.
At around noon, April Sound's Executive Chef Paul Elliott will be serving up a delicious lunch that will appeal to the gentlemen in our audience as well as to the ladies. And then the highlight of our event will take place. The Fashion Show! Diva fashions will be provided by area boutiques such as She She's, Divas, Cha Cha's and Hooplas. The dudes will be showcasing clothes from April Sound Pro Shop and the Men's Warehouse. (Yes, men will be modeling too!) But what is even more exciting is that the people models on the runway will be accompanied by canine models! Wearing fashions provided for them by Different Strokes Pet Boutique of Old Town Spring, these delightful doggie companions will come in a wide variety of ages (from puppies to seniors) and sizes (from Chihuahuas to Labs). But no matter the breed, size or age, they will all look absolutely stunning as they walk the runway! Some of these animals have already found their loving familes, but many are still looking and would love to find a new, forever home at this event. (All of the animals at the Divas & Doggies are rescue animals.) Then, to top off the afternoon, there will be several live auction items to bid on including a plane ride to Brenham and lunch, a Wine Tasting for 20 at Bernhardt Winery and a Biker Chick Ride. There will also be table goodies, door prizes and other surprises! All of this cost only $50 each or a table of 10 for $500. Seating is limited (It was sold out last year!) so hurry! Send a check made out to SPCA to Dolores Morse, 115 Dawns Edge, Montgomery, TX 77356. We all had a great time last year and raised a lot of funds for our rescue pets. We plan to make it even better this year.

Blessing of the Animals

Blessing of the Animals Service to be held 10/2/10 at 10:00 A.M. in the back parking lot at First United Methodist Church of Conroe (located on Texas 105 between Waterfrd Estates and I-45) for a service that exemplifies how we should all love, care and be concerned for all ofGod's creatures, especially our own pets. Following a brief service, which includes a prayer and song, every animal in attendance will receive his/her own individual blessing plus a certificate that acknowledges that blessing. Representatives from our organizaton and many other pet rescue organizations will be in attendance. They will also be collecting dog and cat food to be donated to area shelters. In addition Cub Scouts from Pack #143 will be on hand to conduct a dog wash! Thanks to Mayor Webb Melder, Oct. 2, has been proclaimed "Bless the Animals Day" for the city of Conroe! By the way all species of companion animals are invited to attend. Even if you don't have a pet, please come anyway and enjoy this servce that reminds us that we ALL have a responsibility of stewardship for ALL of God's creatures, those that exist in the wild as well as our companion animals.
Dapper Dogs of the Runway

SPCA PETS SNAP of M.C. is hosting Dapper Dogs of the Runway at Conroe Petco on October 16, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. featuring dogs in their finest fashions.
Does your pampered pooch have what it takes to make it as a runway model? You are invited to find out. Please join SPCA PETS SNAP of M.C. at our local Conroe Petco Store on October, 16th at 2:00 P.M. for an en vogue afternoon of fun and fashion at our Dapper Dogs of the Runway Event. Come and enjoy great company and a doggie fashion show. Dogs can come strut the runway wearing their favorite outfit, Bandana or just their collar and leash set. Participants are asked to fill out an informational form describing their pet and the pet’s outfit which can be done on-line at www.spcaofmc.org and then click on the Forms/Applications on the left hand side menue bar. Forms are also available at the Conroe Petco store and can be completed and turned in at the store. There will be prizes for the contest winners, and goodie bags for all of the doggie models. Pictures on the Red Carpet will also be taken and posted on our website of all the model participants so you can show them off to your family and friends that are not able to attend. We will have lots of adoptable pets on hand as well for anyone that is looking for a new addition to their family. Please join us with or without your furry friends!
PetFest 2010

PetFest in Old Town Spring will be the place to be on Oct. 23rd and 24th. There will be over 50 animal rescue groups and over 100 pet related vendors at the event this year. We will be in booths 8, 9 and 10 and will have lots of adorable rescue pets looking for new homes as well as carnival games. One of our carnival games is just for the doggies and it is Bobbin' for Wieners. Your dog will win even if they do not get the wiener. We will also have 6 floats in the parade and will be throwing out parade throws to the crowd.
Update: We won first place in the Best Decorated Booth Contest at PetFest and got $100.00 to help our rescue pets and a free booth for next year. PetFest 2011 is scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd so if you missed out on the fun this year please be sure and mark your calander for next years event which will be even better.

Doggies & Divas Luncheon & Fashion Show

All are invited to this fun luncheon & fashion event which features dogs "walking the runway" in colorful Masquerade Parade costumes designed by Brenda Mack of Bark Avenue. All canine models are rescued dogs that have already found their forever homes or SPCA dogs who still need to be adopted. Area boutiques such as Cha Cha's, Diva's, Hoopla's, She She's and Doncaster will provide fashions for the ladies. In addition, a delicious lunch will be served as well as a silent auction, live auction and a gift-certificate restaurant tree. Activities begin at 11:00 am. All proceeds will benefit SPCA PETS SNAP of M.C. rescue pets as we are totally run by volunteers. Cost for the event is only $50. For more information please call (936) 447-6285. This years event will again be held in the beautiful Lakeside Room at April Sound Country Club. All are invited to this fun luncheon & fashion event which features dogs "walking the runway". All canine models are rescued dogs that have already found their forever homes or SPCA PETS SNAP of M.C. rescue dogs who still need to be adopted. Area boutiques will provide fashions for the ladies and Tila Steagall with Tila's Creature Comforts will provide fashions for the doggies. In addition, a delicious lunch will be served as well as a silent auction, live auction and a gift-certificate restaurant tree. Activities begin at 11:00 a.m. All proceeds benefit our rescue pets as our organization is run totally by volunteers. Cost for this event is only $50.00. For tickets, send your check made out to SPCA to 115 Dawns Edge, Montgomery, TX 77356 and include a list of those that will be attending. You can also click on the link below to pay on-line.
