Sissy modeling on the runway. Sissy is an very special adoptable SPCA rescue pet that is looking for a new home. She is a female Rat Terrier that is four years old and weighs 18 pounds. Rat Terriers are adorable little digging escape artists and they are true terriers: feisty, funny, energetic, lively, vermin-chasing, and incapable of being boring. Stubborn as all get out, they are not big on pleasing people, but the people who love them laugh all the time. President Theodore Roosevelt is said to have given the breed its name after his own terrier had eradicated the rat infestation at the White House; clearly, the Rat Terrier excels as a public servant--as long as it's in his own best interest. They are an American tradition just like apple pie, but watch your plate or you may find you're missing dessert. They are also great companion pets and do well in a non farm environment as long as you give them the proper exercise and a nice back yard to go out and play in. Sissy is very well behaved and has great house manners. She can be demanding and stubborn at times if she does not get her way and she is spoiled. She does not have the digging escape artist in her but does demand that she gets to go out in the backyard and lay in the sun every morning if the sun is out. If you call her in when she is not ready to come she will go to the far corner of the yard and lay upside down making it hard to pick her up and bring her in. If it is raining then its out to do her business and right back in the house where she looks out the window waiting for the sun to come out. She is crate, leash and house trained. She gets along well with all other pets and has never met a stranger.
