Our first ever SPCA PETS SNAP of Montgomery County Divas & Doggies Luncheon & Fashion Show Fundraiser Event was held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 am at April Sound's beautiful Lakeside Room. It was a great success thanks to all of you that attended, donated auction items and those that worked so hard to make it happen.

Upon entering the Lakeside Room, people were greeted with a delightfully decorated room full of posters depicting rescued animals with their new families. Folks then visited the Silent Auction Tables, filled with lots of items that generous merchants in our area donated. There was a Restaurant Tree Raffle where people won dining certificates to various local eateries. Of course, a cash bar was open for everyone's enjoyment. At around noon, April Sound's Executive Chef Paul Elliott served up a delicious lunch. And then the highlight of the event: The Fashion Show. Dillards provided the fashions for the women and the men. (Yes, men were modeling too!) But even more exciting: accompanying the human models were their canine companions! The doggies, ranging in ages from puppies to seniors and sizes from Itty (a chihuahua) to Shadow and Blondie (labs) are all so very precious and special. Along with Itty, Blondie and Shadow, there was Tippi, Britany, Bruno, Molly, Amanda, Anabel and some of our very own SPCA rescue dogs like Dudley, Loulou & Sammy who were at that time still looking for new forever homes. Fashions for our doggie friends were provided by Bark Avenue. Then, to top off the afternoon, there was three live auction items: A plane ride to Brenham and lunch, a Wine Tasting for 30 and a champagne boat ride for 4! There was also door prizes and other surprises! All of this cost only $40 each and was a tax deductible donation. Tables were set up to seat 10 so there was plenty of room to bring all your friends. This years event will be held on July 31st, 2010 so mark your calendars and be ready to get your RSVP sent in to attend this years event.
